Lakota - we never got to say goodbye…

One weekend back in April, Lakota's owner asked us to pet-sit for Lakota and Mango for a couple of days as we frequently do. Because we had a prior commitment to go out of town for a family event, we were unable to care for them. Instead, Lakota and Mango went to spend the weekend at a doggie spa/boarding kennel. Lakota never came home. She suffered an episode of gastric torsion (sometimes known as "bloat") and died while at the emergency vet. We never got to say goodbye. We truly lost one of our favorite friends...
